In the article it states:

“When temperatures drop below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (F), conventional gasoline cars see a dip in gas mileage of about 12%”

That blanket statement is not true for all cars.

My regular old 2007 Focus is getting about 20% worse fuel economy compared to what I averaged over the summer (35mpg vs 28mpg)

This article is just a rehash of something already well known... but also makes a blanket statement about regular cars that in reality, varies from car to car.

While the quality of this article as a whole is on par with Fox News, the core message is a good one. I get complaints on a weekly basis from B-class and Smart electric owners who don’t understand any of this and think their cars are lemons because their range is 40 miles less than it was in the middle of July.
